A Few Words About Dreaming Traveler

Jean-François (Jeff)

I’ve been told a few times lately that it should not matter where I am in the world, that my sense of well being should depend on my inner state. I suppose there’s a lot of truth to that, but I can’t quite imagine myself being fulfilled these days without being near the exiled Tibetans in India.

I first met many of them when I traveled to Northern India in 2008-2009. Besides the joy of being surrounded by Tibetans monks and nuns, there was the whole range of India’s intensity to contend with. No matter, I was drawn back there in 2010-2011 where I deepened my experience of Tibetan culture. Bliss. Suddenly, I could picture myself as one of those Westerners that return to India over and over.

In parallel to this, wherever I find myself in waking reality, you might also find me engaged in the exploration of the dream state. Dreams have contributed significantly to my experience and understanding of reality. I see them as potent portals of self discovery in addition to being a lot of fun.

dreamingtraveler.com is where I relate some of my experiences in India (and other sacred lands, namely Egypt) and in dreams. Maybe we’ll cross paths as I go back and forth between these places and my native Canada.

Where I am now: Dharamsala, India

Where I’m going next: Bodh Gaya, India (December 2011)
